Hosting Palworld

Palworld's dedicated server is hungry for memory. A small co-op world for 4 to 6 friends wants around 8 GB, and memory use creeps up the longer the server runs and the bigger your bases get. Groups of 14 to 20 are happier on 16 GB, and a full 32-player world needs 24 to 32 GB.

The builder's player slider suggests a size for your group. Palworld servers top out at 32 players, so there's no point sizing beyond that.

01

World settings

Every world setting lives in PalWorldSettings.ini, which you can edit in the file manager: difficulty, experience and capture rates, day and night length, PvP, death penalties, base camp limits and more. Restart the server and the new settings take effect. You can also upload a save from another server or a co-op world to carry on where you left off.

02

Keeping it running smoothly

Because memory use grows over time, many Palworld hosts restart once or twice a day. You can set that up as a schedule in the game panel, along with automatic backups before the restart. Daily backups run on every server too, so a bad update or a griefed base is easy to roll back.

03

Hardware and location

Premium Ryzen 7950X with DDR5 handles busy worlds with lots of Pals working at once. Budget Xeon hardware is fine for a small group. Pick Salt Lake City or Dallas for North America, or Newcastle for the UK and Europe, to keep everyone's ping low.

04

Getting started

Once your server is set up, give it a name and an admin password in PalWorldSettings.ini, plus a server password if you want to keep it to your group. Players join from the in-game server list or by entering your server's address. Enter the admin password in game to unlock commands like kick, ban and save.

About 8 GB for 4 to 6 players, 16 GB for 14 to 20 and 24 to 32 GB for a full 32-player world. Large bases and long uptimes push memory use up.

Up to 32, which is Palworld's limit for a dedicated server. Use the slider in the builder to size your server for your group.

Yes. Edit PalWorldSettings.ini in the file manager to change rates, difficulty, PvP, day length and more, then restart the server.

Yes. Upload your save folder with the file manager or SFTP. Moving a co-op world to a dedicated server can need a fix for the host's character, and our team can help with that.

It helps. Palworld's memory use grows the longer it runs, so a scheduled restart once or twice a day keeps it smooth. You can set one up in the panel.

Budget runs on Intel Xeon servers with DDR4 memory and SSD storage, and is great value for smaller servers and friends. Premium runs on AMD Ryzen 7950X servers with DDR5 memory and NVMe storage: much faster per core, which busy or heavily modded servers notice most.

Premium servers are set up automatically: once your payment goes through, your server is created and you can log in to the game panel straight away. Budget hardware and our Dallas location are on pre-order, so those servers are set up as soon as they launch.

Pick the one closest to most of your players: Salt Lake City or Dallas for North America, Newcastle for the UK and Europe. Distance adds lag that no amount of hardware can remove.
