Hosting Assetto Corsa

Assetto Corsa's dedicated server is very light. 2 GB is enough for most race servers, which is what the builder suggests. Step up to 4 or 6 GB if you run a busy server with lots of cars on the grid or plugins alongside it.

What matters more than size is distance. Racing close together needs a low, steady ping, so pick the location closest to your drivers: Salt Lake City or Dallas for North America, or Newcastle for the UK and Europe. Premium Ryzen hardware gives the steadiest performance for busy grids, and Budget Xeon is plenty for a small private server.

01

Server settings

The server is set up with two files. server_cfg.ini holds the server name, password, track, sessions (practice, qualifying and race), session lengths, assists and damage. entry_list.ini lists the cars on the grid, and its number of entries sets how many drivers can join. Edit both in the file manager and restart.

02

Cars and tracks

The server needs to know about every car and track it runs, including mods. Upload them into the content folders with SFTP or the file manager. Every driver needs the same cars and tracks installed in their game too, so share download links with your group.

03

Content Manager

Most players join through Content Manager, which can also help you build your server config and pack mod content for upload. You can set up everything in Content Manager's server preset tool on your PC, then upload the files to your server.

04

Getting started

Once your server is set up, upload your track and cars, set the track and sessions in server_cfg.ini, and fill entry_list.ini with the cars you want on the grid. Restart, and your server appears in the in-game lobby and Content Manager's online list. Set a password for private league nights, and an admin password so you can kick drivers and skip sessions from in game.

“I have just recently switched to Simplistic from zap-hosting. This service has been great. Coobik, the owner of Simplistic has been such a great help and really fun guy to chat with. I unfortunately had lost my site data in the drive…”

2 GB is enough for most race servers. Choose 4 to 6 GB for busy grids or if you run plugins alongside the server.

Yes. Upload them to the server's content folders, and make sure every driver has the same mods installed.

Add or remove cars in entry_list.ini. Each entry is a slot on the grid.

No. These servers run the original Assetto Corsa. Competizione and Assetto Corsa EVO are separate games.

Budget runs on Intel Xeon servers with DDR4 memory and SSD storage, and is great value for smaller servers and friends. Premium runs on AMD Ryzen 7950X servers with DDR5 memory and NVMe storage: much faster per core, which busy or heavily modded servers notice most.

Premium servers are set up automatically: once your payment goes through, your server is created and you can log in to the game panel straight away. Budget hardware and our Dallas location are on pre-order, so those servers are set up as soon as they launch.

Pick the one closest to most of your players: Salt Lake City or Dallas for North America, Newcastle for the UK and Europe. Distance adds lag that no amount of hardware can remove.
